Who We Are
Innovations Academy provides industry-specific training and resources to promote safety and innovation. We are a premier testing, R&D, and road safety training facility, all-in-one, through Powell Innovations that manufactures, develops, and tests concrete traffic barriers, and other road safety products.

Our mission is to increase the educational opportunities available to public and private transportation infrastructure organizations. Our vision is to ensure all tiers of roadside professionals, provincial, municipal, private, and others, stay up to date with the changing roadside safety landscape.

Our Land Acknowledgement
Powell Innovations respectfully acknowledges that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha and Alderville First Nations and the Métis Nation. We also recognize that this territory was the subject of the “Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant”, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy, the Ojibwe, and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. The treaties that were signed for this particular parcel of land are collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923. Powell Innovations is grateful to have the opportunity to gather and operate on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to it’s first inhabitants.
